SRTEPC Source India 2018: Fashion Forecast Pavilion
About SRTEPC
The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) organized Source India 2018 to promote innovation and growth in the textile sector. A select group of students from NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) was chosen to conceptualize and set up a themed pavilion showcasing fashion forecasts. Each member took on designated roles, and I led the art direction, space design, and photography for the project, while others curated the fabric displays and trend stories.

The SRTEPC pavilion space was designed around four distinct fashion forecasts, each brought to life through curated walls featuring story panels, fabric stands, props, and color palettes, creating an immersive and cohesive visitor experience.

This story envisioned a futuristic take on fashion, where micro trends influence the macro, and evolving codes drive extreme personalization. Minimal aesthetics were used to create maximum impact. I led the photography and styling to capture and express this theme visually.
EMOTIONALLY YOURS
This theme highlights the power of emotion and human connection in fashion. Blending spirituality, nostalgia, and empathy, it uses soft, vintage-inspired fabrics and rustic textures to create a sensory experience that feels soulful and timeless.
MIXED REALITIES
Mixed Realities explores a world where craft and technology coexist, and cultural identities are increasingly fluid. As physical and digital realms blend, production merges hand skills with machines, and consumers engage with layered, immersive experiences that reflect a multi-cultural future.
360° Sustain
A holistic approach to sustainability that spans the entire textile lifecycle — from ethical sourcing and innovative materials to mindful consumption. It reflects a shift toward circularity, where environmental, social, and economic values align through recycled, locally sourced, and responsibly crafted fabrics.
Inside the Pavilion
The pavilion brought each theme to life through curated fabrics, styled walls, and layered storytelling — offering a tactile, immersive trend experience. These glimpses capture the atmosphere and design details of the space, which was inaugurated by Smriti Irani, the Hon’ble Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India, and former Minister of Textiles.
The SRTEPC project pushed me to work end-to-end — from trend research and thematic storytelling to fabric curation, space design, and hands-on styling and photography. It was a powerful exercise in translating abstract fashion forecasts into tangible, immersive visual experiences rooted in craft, narrative, and innovation.
