From Marker to MAX Mini
About ADOBE X SHARPIE
At Adobe MAX 2025, we partnered with Sharpie to transform attendee sketches into animated, expressive characters using Firefly Boards. Visitors created their own “MAX Minis” with Sharpie Creative Markers, scanned them on-site, and watched them come to life instantly through Adobe’s AI-powered image-to-video flow. This activation combined tactile creativity with cutting-edge generative technology, turning simple marker lines into playful, personalized motion stories.

Design a playful but efficient activation that turned hand-drawn Sharpie sketches into animated MAX Minis, while keeping the scanning-to-animation flow fast, obvious, and delightful for all skill levels, even under MAX’s high booth traffic and time pressure.

Designed the full demo flow screens: intake form, instructions, scanning screen with MAX frame, interstitial screens, UI pop-ups and completion screen.
Worked within brand + product constraints (Sharpie + Adobe), keeping it MAX-y but functional.
Created storyboards for all animated videos on each screen.

Mapped and refined the Firefly Boards flow to define how sketches transitioned into the digital space, writing clear on-screen instructions for placement, sequence, and interaction so the experience felt like a natural continuation of the booth rather than a separate tool. Also designed preset thumbnails for locations and styles to make selection instantly understandable, and helped shape prompt structures and visual directions.

I developed a dedicated storyboard for the sizzle reel, highlighting the full journey from scanning to generation in Firefly Boards and Minis in motion. The focus was on pace, hero moments, and clearly communicating the concept in under a minute.

From Figma to real people at the booth. I was present at the MAX booth to guide attendees through the flow. Facilitated real-time interaction with live demos, helping attendees experience the creative potential of Adobe tools through guided walkthroughs.
Working on this activation expanded my perspective from designing screens to designing moments. It pushed me to think holistically about flow, pacing, and usability when creativity meets scale.
